Sampl'Air

The Sampl’Air is a single-staged sieve impactor which operates by drawing a known quantity of air through a stainless steel, perforated grid and then onto a suitable agar media. Microorganisms are then impacted onto the agar. The air is then vacuumed through the sampler and exhausted out the side. Comes standard with carrying case and infrared remote control to allow access to several Sampl’Air. The stainless steel grid is steam sterilizable and the entire sampler is resistant to disinfectants and peracetic acid.

The Sampl’Air uses standard 90 mm Petri dishes, making it easy to incorporate into your normal laboratory procedures. Users are able to choose the media which are the most relevant to grow the organisms they wish to isolate. In any case, the following precautions regarding the media should be taken to ensure accurate sampling:

- The depth of the Petri dish should be reproducible and measure from 2.5-3.5 mm

- The agar surface should be flat and level

- The agar should not present any dryness

- The agar should not have water droplets when used. Any excessive humidity on the agar may affect results

Up to 10 programs can be created by selecting a specific volume in liters (50-9999) or a specific sampling time in minutes (1-99). Delayed start time is possible. The flow rate is a constant 100L/min. For most media used, a cycle longer than 15 minutes may lead to the culture medium drying, which could affect its fertility.

The Sampl’Air is available in two different models: the Sampl’Air Pro and the Sampl’Air Lite. Both models function the same, however, the Sampl’Air Pro incorporates all of the traceability functions including: a PC/ Printer connection, traceability for sampling locations and for culture media plates and the ability to print sampling reports on adhesive labels without a computer.
After connecting to your computer, program, export and process sampling reports can be generated with the Sampl’Air data manager software.
