The MD8 air sampler is the one of the most advanced microbial and viable air samplers available and is manufactured by Sartorius. The MD8 air sampler utilizes a gelatin membrane filtration method that has an unrivaled 99.9% retention rate for airborne microorganisms and is the only method to reliably capture viruses. This method is available on two air samplers; the Airport MD8 portable microbial air sampler and the MD8 Airscan, which is a viable air sampler that’s suitable for clean rooms and isolators. These microbial and viable air samplers are competitively priced and offer distinct advantages. The gelatin membrane filter eliminates desiccation by protecting the captured microorganisms in its sponge-like filter made of 50% water. After sampling, the filter dissolves directly on an agar plate or is dissolved into a sterile solution and may be plated on several types of media. The MD8 microbial and viable air samplers are the only air samplers to offer this kind of performance and versatility.

Sartorius AirPort MD8

Portable version of the MD8 air samplers. Utilizes the gelatin membrane filter sampling method which is the only method boasting a 99.9% retention rate for airborne microorganisms. Air passes through the filter which captures the microorganism.

Sartorius AirScan MD8

Designed specifically for use in isolators and clean room environments. Comes standard with a flexible, PVC hose and is capable of high flow rates; 1 m3 in less than 8 minutes.

Sampl'Air

Portable air samplers utilizing the impaction sampling method. Air is drawn in and directed toward a Petri dish with a suitable collection media.
