BBL™ CHROMagar™ Candida is a nutritive medium for isolating and differentiating yeasts from primary culture of clinical specimens. BBL CHROMagar Candida has gained wide acceptance through the years by many leading mycologists.

Results
CHROMagar Candida differentiates selected yeasts by color morphology, most other yeast isolates will appear in their natural white/cream colony color. Candida albicans will appear as green colonies, Candida tropicalis will appear as blue colonies, Candida galbrata will appear as pinkish-purple colonies.
Procedure
1. Streak CHROMagarTM Candida plate with a sample of the specimen.
2. Incubate plates aerobically at 37’C for 48 hours.
3. Observe plates for characteristic colonial morphology and color at 48 hours and again on day 4 & 7 if no growth on 1st reading.

On receipt, store plates in the dark at 2 - 8°C in original sleeve wrapping until time of inoculation. Plates may be used up until the expiration date. |
